Job Description

GardenerDerby, 40 hrs2- 4 months +£12.50 UmbrellaHamilton Wood Associates are currently recruiting on behalf of a Derby based organisation, who are looking for an experienced Gardener to join their team on a 2- 4month contract.The main aim of the role will be to carry out a range of skilled horticultural and general duties in a range of open spaces.Responsibilities of the Gardener:

  • Undertaking a range of horticulturally based maintenance activities including the cutting and strimming of grass, hedge cutting, pruning, planting and weed spraying
  • Using a range of specialist hand tools and mechanical equipment including strimmers, hedge cutters and ride-on mowers as directed, including undertaking regular maintenance and safety checks, cleaning and sharpening as required
  • Assessing the range and extent of specialist work undertaken and the kind of specialist machinery or equipment to be used
  • Carrying out daily maintenance and safety checks on the allocated vehicle and equipment, and reporting any defects
  • Reporting accidents and incidents as they occur
  • Maintaining records as required
  • Conducting all duties in a safe and proper manner
Requirements of the Gardener include:
  • UK Driving License
  • Pesticide training would be advantageous but not essential
