Job Description BuyerDerbyFull timeWhy Rolls-RoyceAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to join our team.You will support the creation of the integrated commodity / category strategy(s) and you will support the execution the associated strategic sourcing and commercial activities. You will be responsible for the in-contract management of your designated suppliers,providing continuity of supply and required levels of technology, quality, cost and delivery performance.As a Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all sourcing activities are in line with the defined purchasing processes, which will include the raising and management of all purchase documentation within the appropriate system.Work with us and well welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience.We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits.   • Supplier Relationships - Where designated, responsible for the effective day to day management of partners and suppliers.
  • Cost Management - Work with suppliers to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities in line with agreed contracts with deployment of relevant cost models.
  • Strategic Sourcing - Where designated, will support the execution of sourcing and commercial activities to maximise the value proposition across designated commodities / categories. Will be able to gain a fact based understanding of current supply base,supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets.
  • Strategy - Support the development and deployment of relevant integrated commodity / category / supplier strategies, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for the designated supply chain(s). Work collaboratively, as part of a highly skilled crossfunctional teams to ensure that strategies meet the needs of current and future manufacturing programmes.
  • Quality & Delivery - Where designated, select a supply chain capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements and ensuring the management and rectification of quality and delivery issues.
  • Processes and Procedures - Accountable for compliance to company policies, processes and procedures, ensuring all purchasing records and documentations are correct and maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Resource Management - You will support the embedding and the sustainment of a high performance culture within your teams(s).
  • Programme management - You will have good planning and project management skills that are able to develop comprehensive workable solutions in complex situations and will support the deployment of risk management practices to assess, communicate and mitigatesupply chain risks.
  • Stakeholder Management - Nurture effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the function in order to support functional priorities.
  • Supplier Code of Conduct - Responsible for understanding supplier obligations contained in the Global Supplier Code of Conduct and addressing any supplier compliance concerns through direct action or escalation. Responsible for ensuring that supplier complianceto the Global Supplier Code of Conduct is maintained.

  • BA degree or equivalent or significant industry experience.
  • Ideally MCIPs qualified or equivalent.
  • Has a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working.
  • Good planning / project management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management preferred.
