  • Define requirements and develop BMS software for safety critical applications.
  • Provide technical expertise into the development, verification and validation (V&V) of embedded software BMS for across Rolls-Royce.
  • V&V of control algorithms and their embedded systems implementation.
  • Maintain a good understanding of state-of-the-art in embedded systems and software development tools and techniques .
  • Work towards becoming a subject matter expert (SME) for BMS control algorithms and V&V process and represent BMS software both internally and externally while Actively supporting the BMS Team Lead.

  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Software Engineering. Candidates with significant industrial and technology commercialization experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of BMS control for safety critical applications, cell characteristic and aging behaviour; advanced State of Charge (SOC), and State of Health (SOH) algorithms.
  • Good understanding of software design, V&V process for functional safety, preferably within the aerospace/automotive/other industry and familiarity with relevant standards e.g. IEC61508 SIL-3, ISO26262 ASIL-D, EC61508, ISO26262, DO254 and DO178C, and DO331.
  • Experience in model based design using Matlab/Simulink and other key control design software.
  • Experience in commercial solutions development i.e. from concept to final product.
  • Good understanding on generic control methodologies (algorithms, modelling & simulation, HIL testing, MATLAB scripting, model-based design).
