Job Description

Stock Controller (Fresh Produce)Livingston, West Lothian£12.35 per hour / 25,700 per annumTemp to perm vacancyTaskmaster Resources currently have an opportunity for a stock controller/ripener to join our client based in Livingston.Working within the produce team, the successful candidate will need to be able to plan-ahead, think on their feet and be able to lift heavy boxes (up to 22kg at times). When checking fruit within Ripening Rooms, some work is at height and the candidate willbe required to climb a ladder.Normal shift for this role will be Sunday to Thursday, however other days may be required to cover holidays/sickness etc. Hours will be between 4.30am - 3.30 pm. These times are variable.Experience of working within an Operations / Production / Stock Control environment would be beneficial, as would some fresh produce knowledge. Relevant experience of working within a fast-paced environment and a good working knowledge of Health and Safetyprocedures is essential.The role is a temporary to permanent vacancy where you will earn a permanent role after 12 weeks. Immediate permanent positions may be considered for the right candidates.Your responsibilities for this role:

  • Ripening produce according to customer specifications.
  • Make decisions on the most effective and efficient use of the produce.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels to ensure optimum programs are achieved and are as efficient as possible.
  • Liaising with hauliers to ensure timely deliveries of produce.
  • Carrying out all intake checks.
  • May be required to work at intake, scanning produce into building.
  • At times the position requires some confidentiality, and it is important that this is adhered to.
  • To ensure working area is kept tidy to comply with Health & Safety.
  • To conform to the Personnel Hygiene and Housekeeping Notice and Declaration.

Other information:
  • Full training will be given.
  • Pallet truck and Forklift truck license an advantage but not essential
  • Will be required to cover for emergency call outs on odd occasions.
  • Some degree of flexibility will be required in terms of shifts and hours of work, in order to meet the demands of the business.
