Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to join a service in East Kent!Moonreach offers tailored residential care for children, where they strongly believe working together, equals succeeding together. They have 6 childrens homes, maintain a high level of staff competence and create individual care plans to provide the tailoredsupport that each child needs. Moonreach Ltd is a proud member of the Childrens Homes Association (CHA)Is this role for you

  • Dual Registered Manager
  • Up to £50kpa (dependent on quals and experience) + 32 days a/l (incl. of b/hols)

Person Specification:The Registered Manager of Moonreach homes will have good knowledge and experience of law and practice relating to looked after children, have business and management skills to manage the work efficiently and effectively and have or procure financial expertiseto ensure homes are run on a sound financial basis including long-term financial viability.The Registered Manager will have a recognised social work or professional qualification relevant to working with children, a qualification in management, and at least two years experience relevant to residential care within the last five years with at leastone years experience supervising and managing professional staff.Must haves:
  • Hold a recognised social work or professional management qualification relevant to working with children at least to level 4 (Dip SW or NVQ level 5) or have the ability to pursue and secure qualifications at this level.
  • Minimum of 3 years management and supervisory experience gained in a residential setting. At least two years experience of working with children within the past five years.
  • Experience of producing and implementing placement plans and risk assessments and the ability to develop effective approaches to needs assessments.
  • Comprehensive understanding on the needs of young people and children.
  • Ability to produce and implement effective strategies to manage children with complex needs.
  • Experience of taking and acting on decisions using initiative and discretion, within a clearly defined policy and procedural framework.
  • Experience of planning and prioritising own workload and those of others to ensure the achievement of measurable results.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework that underpins the management of Registered Care Homes and particularly the role and requirements of the Ofsted.
  • Experience of supporting residents and staff to work effectively through challenging and crisis situations.
  • Ability to represent and promote Moonreach in a variety of forums and settings. 11 Commitment to, and understanding of, Diversity and Equality.
  • The ability manage financial affairs including budgets and basic financial transactions.
  • Commitment and understanding of good personnel practice including effective performance management, positive health promotion and sickness and absence monitoring and management
