Stroke is the leading cause of death and disability in the UK with more first time strokes occurring at an earlier age compared to 10 years ago (Gov.UK, 2018). Stroke can be a life changing event for the patient and their families.Our established Stroke unit consists of 24 rehabilitation beds and 5 Acute Stroke beds. We are committed to delivering the best care to not only our patients but also to their families, supporting them through what can be a traumatic event.We are looking for dedicated Staff Nurses to join our team who are passionate about delivering the best care possible, who have excellent communications skills and are willing to work as part of a committed and skilled multi disciplinary team, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for our patients and their families. Stroke is a specialised area and the applicant will need to have an interest in Stroke.There will be ample opportunities to develop your knowledge in both the acute side of stroke and the continuing rehabilitation process.Support will be given from all team members during your transition onto the ward.There are both full time and part time posts available, this will be on a shift working pattern including days and nights.
