Would you like to be part of a small dynamic team who work in partnership across the region to improve outcomes for our population Have you got previous experience of co-ordinating and championing action to promote equality, diversity and inclusionAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Team as a Senior Diversity and Inclusion Officer. In this role you will be an ambassador for creating a positive organisational culture and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion for staff, service users, carers and our wider population.The post holder will be one of two specialist staff who have a role in providing strategy and policy advice as in-house specialists on equality and diversity issues. The post holder will co-ordinate support to internal teams advising them on the process of undertaking equality impact assessments that is required to support the development of service improvements, transformation or organisational policies.The post holder will also be involved in the development and delivery of awareness raising training at corporate induction sessions and to staff across a wide range of disciplines, which may also include partner organisations. The Team also commission specialist advice and support to service areas and teams and play a key role in facilitating engagement with stakeholders and protected characteristic groups to ensure the voice of staff, service users, families, carers and the wider population are considered and used to shape the future of services. This will involve working closely with the Engagement Team to promote and nurture links across all protected groups, particularly with those who traditionally experience exclusion or marginalisation.The post holder will be based in Prince Philip Hospital but may be required to travel to various locations across the wider Health Board area. The portfolio is varied and changeable responding to emerging priorities and areas of work.We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and has the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels. The successful post holder must be a team player but with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise to be able to deliver to agreed deadlines. You will need to have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and welcome change and progression.
