The Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Swansea Bay University Health Board is looking to recruit a new member to our paediatric team. The post is permanent, 37.5 hours per week and is based in Morriston Hospital and will involve working across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot Localities.The post would be suited to a highly motivated dietitian who already has some knowledge and experience of working within Paediatric Services. We would like to hear from you if you are willing to learn and utilise transferable skills, able to build collaborative relationships and enjoy working with individuals and groups. You will be supported to gain experience and develop skills within the paediatric speciality.It is important that you have the ability to develop good working relationships with a range of people from different agencies. As part of the MDT you will deliver patient focused care in the acute, outpatient and community setting and in schools. You will also support the patients with a variety of clinical conditions such as food allergies and intolerances, enteral feeding, coeliac disease, selective eating and nutritional support.The post holder will be able to demonstrate strong communication and team working skills, evidencing varied clinical experience. You will work with the Children’s and Young Persons Lead Dietitian to deliver services and will be supported by the Band 7 Paediatric Dietitians. You will be expected to supervise and mentor student dietitians and dietetic support workers. We have excellent support from our administrative and Dietetic Support Workers.The Nutrition and Dietetics Service offers both departmental and personal CPD time and remain committed to evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit. You will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings, interest groups and undertake CPD opportunities.We are approved for student placements 1, 2 and 3.
