Job Description

Job Summary:A Cardiac Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) is a vital member of the cardiac surgical team responsible for providing high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery. They work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and otherhealthcare professionals to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients throughout the surgical process. The role encompasses a wide range of duties, including preparation of the operating room, assisting surgeons during procedures, monitoring patientsvital signs, and post-operative care.-Block booking available-Looking for someone happy to cover on call-Start ASAPQualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Operating Department Practice or a related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Operating Department Practitioner (RODP).
  • Additional specialized training or certification in cardiac surgery is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and professionalism.
