Job Description

Have you considered a role in Interventional Radiology IR is an expanding field and provides minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease. The IR nursing team are vital members of the Radiology team, providing patient care during procedures used to treat a wide array of conditions.Interventional radiology, often known as the operating room of the radiology department, involves using imaging guidance (fluoroscopy, CTs, ultrasounds, x-rays, and MRIs) to guide tiny catheters and wires throughout the body’s vascular system. Unlike traditional (imaging) radiology, which is typically used in a diagnostic/screening capacity, interventional radiology delivers therapeutic procedures, often after other diagnostic testing has been performed.We are looking for offering an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to support Radiology services on the Morriston and Singleton Hospital sites, joining the busy multidisciplinary teams there that deliver a high standard of care to our patients.The post will be based at Morriston, but will be required to provide cover to Singleton hospital on a rotation bases. The role will include assisting with interventional procedures. You will be required to wear a protective lead apron as appropriate. The post offers lots of variety to develop and enhance skills and knowledge within a unique nursing environment.Because of the rotation to two sites applicants will need the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.For further details / informal visits contact:Sianed DafyddSenior Nursesianed.dafydd@wales.nhs.uk
