Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Quality and Safety team at Morriston Unit as a Quality & Safety Support Manager to work within our team to support the Health Board meet all its quality & safety requirements in line with NHS Wales “Putting Things Right” Regulations, Public Service Ombudsman for Wales. Health Inspectorate Wales, Wales Audit Office, Community Health Council and NHS Wales Quality Plan.This is a key role within the team supporting the delivery of quality & safety outcomes for specifically in relation to the delivery of the 30-day response target and the management of informal enquiries within 48 hours.The post holder will promote patient safety and contribute to the development of organisational learning and improvements in patient safety at service level.Specifically, the role will be responsible for supporting the Head of Quality & Safety in implementing the following key areas within the Delivery Unit services:

  • Patient safety
  • Management of NHS Redress; Incidents, Complaints, Claims
  • Provide support within the team with regards to the investigation of significant events (Amber/Red) ensuring that responses are accurate, robust and in line with NHS Wales “Putting Things Right” Regulations.
  • Datix RISK management
  • Implementation and monitoring compliance against all quality and safety related Health Board Policies, Procedures and Strategies
  • Co-ordination and monitoring of safety alerts implementation
