This is a permanent post – 37.5 hours per week. Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:45 to 17:00.The Pathology Office is central to the various Pathology disciplines that provide laboratory testing services at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The post holder will join a small friendly team based at Morriston Hospital.The main duties will consist of clerical and reception type duties. The role is varied due to the interaction with other departments within the hospital as well as the laboratories. The post holder will be expected to communicate effectively with Medical staff including GP surgeries, Laboratory and Estates staff, patients and their families. Occasionally there will be a need to deal compassionately with recently bereaved relatives, as the Pathology Office is adjacent to the Mortuary and visitors may present themselves at the main reception desk.The post holder will be able to demonstrate ability to work under his/her own initiative but also as part of a team.
