As a result of retirement, we are pleased to be able to offer an exciting and challenging opportunity to become part of our compassionate, dedicated and patient centered service for Children and Young People.Swansea Bay University Health Board is one of the largest and most complex organisations in the Welsh NHS, and indeed, the United Kingdom as a whole. We commission and provide all community and hospital based health services for almost 400,000 residents. Many more use our specialist tertiary services. Our focus is always to support the health and wellbeing of our population and to achieve improved health outcomes. We have an ambitious organisational strategy that is closely aligned to the progressive policy and legislative landscape in Wales, including close integration with social services and the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.Childrens Services manages an award winning regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Singleton hospital, with the acute paediatric service based at Morriston that includes the recent development of a childrens emergency unit. There are dedicated childrens centres on each hospital site for community paediatrics and the specialty has excellent feedback for medical training. The HB was the first in Wales to implement the Childrens Rights Charter, followed by the development of BaYouth – an advisory panel to ensure the voices of young people are heard, and to inform service improvement.As Head of Nursing you will be committed to our core organisational values of Caring for Each Other, Working Together and Always Improving.
