Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Directorate Resource Manager within the Clinical Support Services directorate and a responsibility to support all non-pay resource management within the operating theatre department.Appointing an expert in procurement based primarily in Morriston Theatres would allow the non-pay budget to be reviewed and support the cost improvement programme for the three theatre suites based in Morriston, Singleton and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals. The post holder will have specific focus on:

  • Developing a clinically engaged approach to procurement in theatres that is owned by those involved.
  • Ensure the application and adherence of procurement standards (Procedures & Policies),
  • Align with the overall HB objectives of delivering the savings of the procurement plan.
  • The post holder must have extensive experience of working collaboratively with various stakeholders and will have specialist knowledge of professional Purchasing Principles acquired through Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or Degree, or possesses knowledge, skills and experience to equivalency, in depth knowledge of EU Contracting and Procurement Management and Oracle training.It is essential that you are a good communicator, have extensive knowledge of strategic change, specialist knowledge of and delivering departmental level procurement, capital and revenue purchasing processes, experience of Contracting and Ordering processes, experience of tendering process, relevant office experience using a range of clerical and administrative functions and experience of supervising and managing staff.The successful candidate must be able to evidence a track record of change management in a challenging and complex environment.
