Full / Part time hours considered Permanent and locum posts availableWe are looking for ambitious Consultants to join one of the largest providers of integrated health care in the UK. These posts are a combination of replacement for retirement, consultant expansion and locum for sabattical leave.As a Health Board in Wales we are ambitious for the communities we serve and determined to uphold the fundamental values of the NHS.We are research-driven, working in close partnership with Swansea University, its College of Medicine and the Institute of Life Sciences.You will join an expanding team of 13 Intensivists providing cover for the 28 bedded general Intensive Care Unit (18 x level 3, 10 x level 2). The unit provides critical care services for a range of general and tertiary services providing a highly varied case mix.Opportunities exist for individuals to have joint job plans with sessions available in actue medicine, emergency medicine, anaesthesia, burns ICU and cardiac ICU. Contact with the relevant clinical directors to discuss opportunities is strongly advised.The post is predominantly based in Morrisotn Hospital which is central to the Health Boards clinical services plan to further centralise actue and complex care to the site. The hospital already hosts the supra-regional Burns ICU covering a population of 10 million and the regional Cardiac Centre with 10 bedded ICU.The need for increased provision of Critical Care within the Hospital is under review with changes to adjacent hospitals delivery models, designation as the single thoracic surgical centre for South Wales and work within the major trauma network.We are passionate about delivering excellence in clinical services and taking early action to promote and protect health and independence.Should you join us you will be working in a culturally rich environment which includes a strong heritage and the UK’s first designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
