Job Description

We now hold a prominent position as one of the leading MEICA providers in the UK water industry.RSE is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in Cumbernauld. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The post holder will manage the financial and commercial aspects of projects, understanding and adhering to currentlegislation, health and safety law and contract law, offering strategic guidance to Clients, including prioritising spending, outsourcing etc. Day-to-day duties include the preparation of Activity Schedules, Bills of Quantities and Resource profiling, preparationof Applications for Payment for submission to Client(s), reviewing project work scopes, notifying and preparing variations as necessary. Sub-contract administration including developing sub-contract documents, reviewing and agreeing valuations, managing variationsand negotiating final accounts will also be required.The ideal candidate will have:

  • RICS recognised qualification or equivalent in one or more of the following - surveying, construction, civil engineering, structural engineering
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to allow preparation of Bills of Quantities/Schedules of Rates and other such procurement documentation
  • Experience and qualifications appropriate to service in a similar role
  • Experience in contract final accounts including valuations and variations
  • Must have experience in cost control
  • Experience of cost/value reconciliation/reporting, project management, negotiating and settlement of accounts desirable
