IT Security Engineer

FPSG have partnered with a global client who are looking to add an IT Security Engineer to their existing IT team. Due to recent events the business have seen a substantial change to how they must operate and the role of IT Security Engineer will help steer strategic objectives in relation to security and make a real impact to the business presently and in the future plans.The business has employees across the globe, so experience supporting locally and internationally is important. This candidate will become the businesss SME on all things IT Security, from introduction of new security lead technologies, driving training across the business globally to ensure compliance and working with the Exec team to ensure buy in on substantial threats.Role Responsibilities*Reviewing governance, process and controls around IT security with a view to recommending best practices*Investigation of security breaches and other cyber incidents*Administration/deployment of security and related data protection IT solutions*Monitoring, alert management and escalation for security solutions*Standardisation of base line builds, configurations, etc. to improve security*Developing security focussed procurement standards*Patch management processes and stakeholder co-ordination*Assisting with the delivery of subject access requests*Developing knowledgebase materials to assist the IT team and end users on security related matters*Working with external providers for pen testing, vulnerability detection etc.*Implementing gap closing activities for known security vulnerabilities and external audit points*Keeping the IT Leadership Team informed of the latest/best security/data protection developments*Developing metrics to help gain insight into the security landscape and prioritise activities to improve*Introducing an implementing an end-user security training programTo be successful in the role of IT Security Engineer you will have experience with:*Previous commercial experience in an IT Security role at a 3rd Line level.*Taken the lead of IT Security projects, including managing stakeholders.*Excellent communication skills, appropriate to both expert and non-expert IT colleagues.*Natural affiliation with problem solving*Hands on commercial experience working with;zScalerMimecastMcAfee/Carbon Black endpoint solutionsCheckpoint firewalls/VPNCisco switching and routingVMware vSphereVeeam backup & replicationDell hardwareSecureworks managed SIEM solutionProofpoint TrainingSolarwinds monitoringRewardAn excellent salary and benefits package as well as a structured career path, tagged with the ability to work from home as when required (a truly adult approach to "work life balance")Equal OpportunitiesFPSG is committed to equal opportunities regardless of gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief and age.We are Disability Confident and neurodiverse aware.
