Job Description

Redmayne Bentley are currently seeking an undergraduate sandwich course student to join our stockbroking team at our Locksbottom office, located outside of the hustle and bustle of Londons inner city, between Bromley and Orpington. The placement will provideyou with twelve-months work related experience within the financial industry and the opportunity to gain an overview of the inner workings of an award-winning Investment Management firm.Our Firms Vision is to be the most trusted independent provider of personal investment services. If these values and behaviours resonate with you and you would like to gain experience working for an award-winning firm, then we would love to hear from you.What you will be doingWorking as part of a wider team you will support stockbrokers and the manager within the office on a range of client focused tasks. Communicating effectively both over the telephone and face to face, you will provide an excellent service to both existingand potential new clients.The role will involve various client facing processes such as assisting with the allocation of transactions to client accounts, account reconciliation, and othersupport duties within branch. As the position is within a highly regulated sector you will beensuring compliance with the FCA rules and regulations, which is fundamental when assisting clients and opening new accounts, full training will provided around this.What you will bring to the teamYou will have a keen eye for detail, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.You will be driven and enthusiastic for learning more about the investment and financial industry, with the ability to build relationships with our clientsto deliver an exceptional service. Working as part of the wider team, you will be a team player and willingness to help others.What you will gainWe want to provide the successful candidate, with excellent industry relevant experience to kickstart their future careers. Over the course of your student placement at Redmayne Bentley, you will be expected to gain the CISI level 4 IAD UK Regulation andProfessional Integrity exam.This exam will be paid for by the firm and will give you a valuable understanding of the regulations and legislation that underpin financial markets. The year you spend with us will provide you with the foundations to make a real mark within the financeindustry.Requirements Applicants should be studying for an industry related degree and have previous experience of working within a team and providing administration support. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and general technological confidence is also a must.Academic qualification requirements are 3 A Levels at grade A-C and 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades A-C or equivalent.
