Job Description

Overseeing the running of a joinery workshop, managing the best use of labour and materials, allocating work and ensuring production to plan whilst supporting the joiners work. Ensuring a culture of right first time, efficient production and continuous improvement.Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage work to maximize on the skills and competence of the workforce and meet agreed completion requirements.
  • Maintain the quality control of materials and products within the workshop.
  • Coordinate work to lists and ensure allocation of staff to meet programmed deadlines, targets and changes etc.
  • Work with development teams to ensure that designs are productionised, suggesting change where needed
  • Maintain a clean, orderly workshop environment with a focus on Health and Safety
  • Ensure all machinery is maintained and appropriate training for staff is provided
  • Work with HR to manage staff including performance, sickness monitoring, appraisals, etc
    • You need
  • 5 years minimum experience in a timber furniture manufacturing environment
  • Experience in both traditional joinery and a flat panel mass production environment preferable
  • 3 years minimum experience of managing teams
  • Knowledge of CNC programming advantageous
  • An in depth understanding of CNC machines, edgebanding, lamination and veneering, joinery workshop machinery and spray lacquering
  • 3 Years bench joinery experience
