Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for HR Manager to join a well-respected manufacturer in Crewkerne. As it is a manufacturing site there is no hybrid working at the momentThis is a generalist role providing high quality HR service, to the factory of c130 employees. The organisation is part of a bigger international company with locations across the world.You will undertake full responsibility for providing a full HR Service through the whole employee lifecycle, including overseeing the payroll process and health and safety administration. You will work directly with management, line managers and recognisedunion.You will support, manage, and coach a small team of HR administrators who will undertake the bulk of the HR admin role. Coaching, communication, persuasion and influencing skills will be key to success in this role.Main Responsibilities include;

  • To provide a proactive and solutions focused HR service to the business, advising and coaching managers on a wide variety of HR and ER matters, encouraging and empowering managers to take ownership of HR issues.
  • Support the whole recruitment process, participate in all interviews and oversee the temporary workers agency partnership
  • Attend meetings, negotiate and work with union reps.
  • Agree training programmes and specifications with Management, identify training and monitory training where re-certification is required.
  • Monitoring absence and advice management where action needs to be taken.
  • Participate in weekly Management meeting, and advise other Managers of any relevant HR issues, and propose solutions.
  • Assist the Health & Safety Manager if required. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation
  • Work closely with Group HR Manager (in France)
  • Complete monthly HR reports for Group
Person Specification
  • CIPD Level 5 or above
  • Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (Desirable)
  • Extensive generalist HR experience.
  • Line management experience.
  • Ideally experience of working in manufacturing or similar organisation (desirable)
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and evidence of converting employment law knowledge into practice.
  • Experience of operating a continuously changing and evolving environment.
  • Ability to speak French would be a bonus (desirable)
