Job Description

We are looking for a HR Assistant to join a manufacturing company based in Crewkerne. The organisation is part of a bigger international company with locations across the world.Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be supporting a high quality service to the factory of c130 employees.You will take responsibility for all administrative duties to ensure that a professional HR service is provided. This includes mainly recruitment, leaver, training and absence management administration as well as dealing with general enquiries, secretarialduties and maintaining in-house human resources information systems.Key Responsibilities include

  • Prepare and process weekly payroll to set timescales
  • Calculate wages and salaries to include shift payments, overtime compensation, and pension contributions
  • Issue employees salaries by electronic transfer and calculate pay raises and bonuses
  • Resolve issues line managers or employees have with timesheets, payslips and other payroll matters
  • Complete payroll reports
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance of the Time & Attendance system
  • Process medical certificates and weekly absence returns
  • Manage Occupational Health with external Occupational Health provider.
  • Maintain Filing system, including training Matrix, Occupational Health and personal files
Position Requirements:
  • Experience of working in a HR or busy admin role.
  • Good working knowledge of Sage Payroll or other payroll applications/systems would be advantageous
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and IT systems
  • A sharp eye for detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Structured approach with strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to forge good working relationships at all levels of the organisation
This role would suit a good administrator who wants to work within a HR team
