Senior Quality Inspector

Job Description

We are currently working with a leading specialist manufacturer based near Cranbrook.Due to expansion, they are currently seeking a Senior Quality Technician to join their team.This is a hands-on role that would suit someone with a background in quality control wishing to progress their quality career in process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities will include:Final inspection of sheet metal and machined components to drawings manufactured in their engineering plantInspection of incoming raw materials and sub-contract operationsIn-process inspection of partsRecord control handlingCalibration of measuring equipment and ensuring the calibration system conforms to StandardsCreation of key dimensional reports, FAI reports, CofA .etc.Raising internal and external non-conformance investigationsResponsible for subsequent corrective and preventative actions of non-conformanceAssisting with ISO 9001 management system dutiesMeeting production deadlines for ordersEnsuring suppliers meet quality expectationsCo-ordinating with the Quality Technicians to ensure all products are final inspected to production deadlinesThe ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:Experience of managing quality targets and achieving goalsExperience of fine limit sheet metal inspectionExperience using manual measuring techniques, including using hand tools such as vernier, callipers and micrometresExperience of raising non-conformance reports and conducting subsequent investigations/actionsExperience of FAI and report writingA good understanding of reading engineering drawings, projections and tolerancesExperience of working within a quality management standard (minimum to ISO 9001)Good communication skills, must be able to relay information internally and externallyStrong organisational skills with an attention to detail and a focused approach to workProficient in IT skills and use of ERP systemsTeam player possessing good inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate to staff at all levelsDesirable skills:Experience of CMMExperience of hardness and tensile testingExperience of using Process Flow and FMEA ProcessesExperience of fine limit sheet metal inspectionThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business that can offer ongoing career development and training coupled with an excellent salary and benefits package.
