Job Description

Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a reputable and successful organisation who are currently in search of a Product Development Executive to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.Purpose of job:

  • Responsible for the research, development, booking and execution of the Tours and Excursions programme.
Key Tasks/Accountabilities:
  • Researching and developing itineraries for tours, to enhance and expand the product portfolio across Europe and the UK
  • Liaising with suppliers and negotiating allocations and rates for all components of the tours ensuring they provide good value for customers whilst also delivering good levels of quality and meeting health & safety standards
  • On occasion, visiting, inspecting and researching existing and potential new sites in the UK & Europe that are within or might be considered for the Tours programme
  • Generate bookings to enable the European and UK Tours business to achieve its sales & revenue targets
  • Develop a full understanding of the Tours products, to be able to confidently advise customers of their holiday options; creating marketing briefs; and support the go to market delivery
  • Key point of contact for all customers from their initial enquiry and booking, through to assisting them pre & post departure
  • Responsible for handling, & resolving customer complaints (written & telephone) and the handling of responses to customers
  • Ensuring all bookings and member details are accurately recorded in the reservation system and that the appropriate booking documentation is sent to the customers
  • Responsible for the administration of bookings for European and UK Tours, including liaising with suppliers to make and confirm bookings, preparing holiday documentation and dealing with changes from suppliers and/or customers
  • Assist the manager with the set-up & maintenance of the tours in the reservation system
  • Responsible for the day to day communication between the company and the Tour Host team and liaising with the hosts concerning their specific tour commitments
  • Responsible for completing all tour itineraries and despatching welcome packs to customers and to ensure both hosts and customers have the necessary, accurate information for their chosen tour
  • Assisting with the production of the brochure(s) and website content in relation to the tours programme
  • Provide regular updates and any necessary training relating to the tours product to the customer service team
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
  • Good destination knowledge of the UK & Europe
  • Fluent French speaker or other European language would be advantageous
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Passion for travel and for working in the travel industry
  • Strong people skills - friendly and a team player with an excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
  • Highly organised and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to deal with a wide range of tasks with conflicting priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus excellent numerical ability
  • Drive and motivation - ambitious, dynamic, passionate and driven - eager to progress and move things forward
  • Able to spend time away from home, approximately 5 times per year, for circa 1 week at any one time
  • Able to work or travel at weekends on occasions as required
  • Previous experience of and confident for driving in Europe
  • Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers in a variety of situations.
  • Flexible attitude to working in a dynamic environment and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative
