Job Description

Summary As our Marketing & Communications Officer, you will be responsible for marketing the Sissinghurst portfolioimaginatively and creatively.Salary: £21,684 paHours: 37.5 hrs pw, permanent. What its like to work here The Sissinghurst portfolio consists of four properties and gardens open to visitors.Sissinghurst has international significance and is considered as being one of the finest gardens open to visitors attracting circa 200,000 visitors each year.Lamb House in Rye came back into the management of the National Trust in 2018 and has since started to build a fantastic offer in the heart of Rye in East Sussex. Lamb House has strong literary associations and has previously been occupied by Henry James,E.F Benson and Rumer Godden. Lamb House is a beautiful Georgian House with a large walled garden.Smallhythe Place in Tenterden, Kent, was the home of Ellen Terry, an actor from the Victorian age. It is a wonderful early 16thcentury house with a cottage garden and its own Barn Theatre set within beautiful surroundings.Stoneacre is situated near Maidstone in Kent, the property is a half-timbered yeoman farmers house dating from the 15th century, together with a wonderful garden, orchard, and meadows. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Day to day, youll manage and help develop our annual marketing plan to help achieve our ambitious targets, helping us to reach out to new audiences. This will include defining advertising activities and creating promotional materials and updates (acrossall media platforms, including social media), writing and distributing press releases and representing us on location filming and broadcast media when you need to.Were looking for someone who can help us reach larger and more diverse audiences for our places and our digital content. Youll work as part of a team to make sure that were sharing the best stories we can. Spreading the word about places to visit in thegreat outdoors, and raising awareness of our conservation work is key to what were about.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.   • Experience of developing a marketing plan
  • Confidence in managing social media platforms and proactively seeking new stories that are relevant to our properties
  • A strong communicator, able to adapt approaches when dealing with all disciplines across the portfolio
  • Someone who can use their own initiative and set the direction
  • Able to listen to feedback and build relevant internal communication platforms to ensure that consistent messages are effectively delivered
  • Teamwork and collaboration are also key to this role
