Job Description

Summary As a Service Assistant youll work in the mansion house. Whether welcoming guests on reception, or helping to answer queries around the house, youll help to deliver high-quality customer service to all our visitors.Salary: £11.50 per hourContract/duration: 750-hour annualised contract, on a fixed-term until 4th October 2026.Hours/working pattern/hours: Hours of work are between 11.00-17.00. Working days will be flexible, and will include weekends and bank holidays.Interview Date: week commencing 6th May What its like to work here Reporting to one of our Collections and House Officers, you’ll be part of a team of 13 Service Assistants working at Cragside. What youll be doing Service Assistants play an important role in supporting the House Team in greeting and helping our visitors.No two days are the same and you can expect to meet lots of different people and help in various visitor areas.You’ll be involved in different tasks.These could include greeting visitors on arrival or assisting them with queries around the house, whilst also working alongside our volunteers, and helping to ensure we meet our security and fire safety compliance requirements.Most importantly you’ll talk to visitors, answering any questions they have to make sure they can find everything they need for their visit.This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service and a keen interest in learning about visitor operations.
