Senior Commodity BuyerLocation: Coventry.Shift: Days (37-hours per week)Permanent Senior Commodity Buyer required to join a global automotive OEM, who are leading the way with electric vehicles, on a permanent basis, based at their head-office in Coventry.Responsibilities of the Senior Commodity Buyer: Strategic sourcing, process improvement and LEAN initiatives within the Supply Chain whilst maintaining excellent Supplier Relationships Managing engineering interfaces, QAFS analysis, commercial issues, and negotiations, seeking cost reduction opportunities and overall supplier management. Ownership of BoM costs and Investment portfolio. Mentoring and Development of Junior team members Assessing pricing and competitive behaviours undertaken in the supply chain, take actions to improve and/or develop approaches to mitigate the impact and report to Senior Management of pursuing strategies Contributing to the development and implementation of functional, business unit and sourcing strategies through added value procurement and supply chain management Assembling cross functional teams and consulting with internal stakeholders to conduct strategic sourcing & category management Create competitive advantages such as reduce cost, improved quality, time to market and produce through global sourcing and low-cost country sourcing strategies. Undertake due diligence on suppliers to evaluate risks of breaching ethical standards, financial factors, and capacity constraints before sourcing Review draft contracts to ensure that contractual documents are fully detailed, dealing effectively with any queries raised internally or from suppliers recognising KPIs, contract terms and pricing scheduleExperience Required for the Senior Commodity Buyer: Experience in the use of Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems for procurement and supply activities, such as EPICOR / SAP or other ERP/MRP purchasing systems Demonstrate effective behavioural and technical skills across the organisation, with suppliers and other stakeholders for effective category management Able to analyse/create a risk assessment plan for the outsourcing of work considering feedback from stakeholders Identifying value added activities in global sourcing through reducing cost, improved quality, delivery reliability, innovation, and sustainability Experience in evaluating the range of approaches that can be use in commercial negotiations such as Collaborative, Distributive, Pragmatic, Principled styles of negotiation, allowing to create objectives, strategies, and goalsDesirable Experience for the Senior Commodity Buyer: CIPS level 5 or Equivalent Automotive Supply Chain / Purchasing background Quality/Manufacturing in OEM or Tier one Engaging in forums, seminars, and other events to promote best practices in programme and project management across the supply chain Development and implementation of contracts, as well as evaluate and make any necessary revisions to optional clauses and schedules Referencing the CIPS Global StandardTo show your interest in this role please Apply Now with a copy of your CV, should you be successfully shortlisted a member of our Team will contact you to discuss the role in more detail.
