Job Description

Company:Our client, a leading wholesaler with a national presence, is seeking an adept Buyer to join their dedicated team.Role Overview:As a Buyer specialising in Household and Cleaning Products, you will play a pivotal role in driving our clients wholesale success by overseeing strategic procurement and supplier management within this sector. Based at the West Midlands headquarters, youwill lead the sourcing of premium household and cleaning products, negotiate contracts, and foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure top-tier quality and value.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimise product selection, pricing, and availability across household and cleaning categories.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers while nurturing existing partnerships to maintain a robust and diversified supply chain for household and cleaning products.
  • Negotiate favourable terms and contracts with suppliers, balancing profitability with maintaining the highest quality standards within household and cleaning categories.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to gauge trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities, informing data-driven purchasing decisions and driving sales growth.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including merchandising, inventory management, and marketing to align procurement activities with business objectives within household and cleaning categories.
  • Vigilantly monitor and evaluate supplier performance, swiftly addressing any issues or discrepancies to uphold consistent product quality and availability.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, regulations, and best practices relevant to household and cleaning categories, driving continual improvement and innovation in procurement processes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a buying role within the wholesale industry, with demonstrable expertise in household and cleaning categories.
  • Strong negotiation skills, evidenced by a track record of securing advantageous terms and contracts within household and cleaning categories.
  • Superior analytical and strategic thinking skills, enabling the translation of data into actionable insights tailored to household and cleaning categories.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, fostering productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Impeccable organisational skills, adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively within household and cleaning categories.
  • Must be able to work on site 5 days a week at our West Midlands headquarters.
