Job: Mechanical Design EngineerSalary: Circa £40,000Location: Coventry I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong 3D Design experience and previous knowledge of CNC Machinery.Job Description, Mechanical Design Engineer:As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved in creating designs from initial concept to drawings and BOMs for manufacture. You will need to regenerate, update old & new drawing formats on the CAD system database to standardise drawings where possible.A successful will need to improve and update existing designs to achieve the use of common components, improve quality, reduce assembly times and cost. You will need to design new products including grinding machines, sub-assemblies, fixtures, loading mechanismsand tooling. You will also be involved in the design of gear systems, slide ways, machine bases, hydraulic and pneumatic systems etc. You will use 3D CAD software to create drawings of manufactured components and castings. A candidate will be calculating forces(inertia, torque, etc.). You need to produce design solutions that meet customer and internal requirements, conform to safety and other legal requirements. Preparing the documentation for manufacture and assembly i.e., drawings, bills of materials. Managetask assignment within the department and junior design engineers.What we require, Mechanical Design Engineering:A strong background in 3D Cad Design, FEA, geometric and dimensional tolerances is required for this position. Experience in machine tools design. Experience in selecting motors, calculate inertia, torque.
