She loves going to the charity shop in the village (20 min walk there) and also visiting various charity shops in town. She likes to interactwith you but will also have days where she has time to herself. She has a cat who she dotes on. She is a smoker but is respectful to those who dont smoke and tends to just smoke within her flat alone. She likes to go out for long and short walks dependingon the weather.We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve. To help them achieve this you will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potentialsleep ins.If your best traits are positivity, friendliness and innovation then this job is for you!Main duties and responsibilities:To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.The ServiceWheatsheaf is residential home for 6-8 Service Users commutable from Cambridge and surrounding areas.Working at Wheatsheaf you will be supporting individuals with physical and learning disabilitiesPersonal CharacteristicsDiploma in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one.Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.The ability to keep calm under pressure.The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.Excellent communication skillsThe passion to work with vulnerable adultsThe desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.The Organisation:CareTech Community Services Ltd is a provider of specialist social care services supporting 5000 adults with a wide range of needs in more than 300 services across the UK.
