Overview of RoleWork with the Head of Pillar to deliver best value and outstanding service for members across their energy portfolios and maximise business opportunities. To actively contribute to the wider pillar business objectives and targets.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral• To lead the Energy team in delivering a seamless end-to-end member journey from on-boardingthrough management of the supply• To proactively identify new business opportunities and work towards increasing membercommitment and volumes• Attend Shows/Events as required by the role• Ensure knowledge base of the product areas maintains an understanding of any future technical and commercial aspects of relevant markets and any impact these may have on the business• Create and maintain communication with members, including establishing relationships by calling all relevant new members, contributing towards email and text alerts/newsletters and any other member communication material, to keep them up to date with markets and any relevant product information• Contribute to business plan and budget forecasting, reporting on performance through monthly board reports• Review, monitor and update forecast against plan as required, providing necessary supportingcommentary• Manage and develop the Business Unit team members to exceed the department business targets and KPIs in line with the business plan• To manage your team effectively, including dealing with day-to-day issues (e.g. sickness/holidays),ensuring adequate cover is maintained at all times• Ensure the business units processes and procedures are implemented and all business activity isaccurately recorded and reported as necessary• Contribute to company KPIs as required• Identify appropriate times to make purchases and communicate this information as appropriate toinclude leading tender processes as required• Effectively communicate and implement various purchasing strategies deemed suitable for product area• Work closely with other Business Managers to identify joint ventures and sharing of expertiseSupplier Management• Responsible for sourcing and purchase of all supplies within product group by developing long-term purchasing strategies with suppliers• Negotiate and ensure terms are current with suppliers and ensure suppliers are working within anyrelevant regulations• Continuously evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to enable improvementsMember Management• Work closely with membership taking appropriate steps to understand needs and identify solutions• Build solid relationships with membership ensuring consistency of service and approach• Act as an added value interface between member and supplier to build commitment• Ensure members are kept updated regarding product area changes and legislative changes• Seek member feedback to evaluate performance and enable improvementsTeam Management• To manage your team effectively, including dealing with day-to-day issues (e.g. sickness/holidays),ensuring adequate staff cover is maintained• Highlight and deal with performance management issues (e.g PDRs / disciplinaries) in line withcompany policy and guidelines• Develop and maintain team morale, reviewing team and operational needs regularly and identifying training needs and monitor staff performance against agreed KPIs for team in line with delivering wider company KPIs as appropriateGeneral Duties and Responsibilities• Embed SERV values in trading desks activities and all member interactions• Proactively identify member new business and supplier opportunities for the company• Support and adhere to the companies business charter• Maintain a safe working environment in line with the HSE policyPerformance Measures• Business unit turnover, volume and rebate income• Business unit KPIs• Business plan objectives• Complete objectives outlined in annual PDRPerson SpecificationQualifications & ExperienceEssential• Management experience in particular within Energy markets• Market knowledge• Clear understanding of market(s) in which the company operates• Previous management experience• Knowledge of product area and related markets (including pricing structures/changing markets andtechnological changes• Strong negotiation skills• Competent in writing reports, articles and presenting self in front of an audience• Data analysis and presentation skills• Able to demonstrate ability to identify and make improvements• Experience in setting and managing budgets• Strong networking skillsPersonal Qualities• Strong leadership capability• Strong customer service ethos• Ability to mentor and coach to improve performance• Drive, enthusiasm and resilience - we work in a multi-faceted and challenging environment• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on companys success• Commitment to attain delivery goals and personal objectives• Professional and approachable personality, expert at building rapport• Initiative and self-confidence
