Job Description

Due to our clients continued success and expansion, they are recruiting for an additional Purchasing Assistant to join the Head Office team in Exeter in this full time, permanent rolePurchasing Assistant - Job Summary

  • To effectively process day to day needs of the business with reference to the purchasing, storage and delivery of equipment/services to maximise efficiency & customer service levels.
  • This involves, having excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage your own workload and have good IT and communication skills.
  • Proactively liaise with internal and external customers in order to resolve queries or spot potential issues before they escalate.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Approving and checking Purchase Requests
  • Checking & Amending Van Stocks nationally
  • Effectively communicating progress with staff members in multiple locations
  • Assisting with the management of supply chain
  • Constantly reviewing stock levels and stock control
  • Following of the ISO 9001:2008 requirements in relation to procurement and stores
  • Reporting any issues/improvements to help improve day to day running of the stores/procurement function.
  • Liaising with suppliers to problem solve internal queries.
Accountable for:
  • Recording data accurately
  • Ensuring correct costs are applied to all projects/parts
  • Ensuring the preferred supplier process is adhered to

  • Methodical and thorough in checking all relevant documentation, procedures and processes

  • Accurately completes all appropriate manual documentation and computer records

Technical knowledge:
  • Knowledge of procurement, warehousing and supply chain management,
  • Good understanding of computer systems including excel.
