Job Description

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Servicehas a fantastic opportunity for aHuman Resources Administrator - Business Partneringto join our team based inExeter.You will join us on afull-time,permanentcontract,and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of£25,409 - £27,852(gross) per annum.Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Serviceis the largest non-metropolitan Fire and Rescue Service in England. Keeping people safe is what we do, and we owe our fantastic reputation to our highly skilled and motivated workforce.About the role:As ourHuman Resources Administrator - Business Partneringyou will provide an efficient Human Resource service for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service by supporting the HR Business Partner function. You will oversee a range of HRprocesses and procedures to ensure the smooth and efficient administration and delivery of HR Services. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to both managers and employees, offering advice on HR policies and procedures topromote effective engagement and compliance.Key responsibilities of our Human Resources Administrator - Business Partnering will include:

  • Developing and applying continuous improvement in line with the strategic direction of HR and the Service, as guided by the HRBPs for the benefit of colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Managing and progressing many aspects of transactional HR service relating to the employee lifecycle, utilising relevant HRIS and external systems (e.g. preparing correspondence and other documents relating to employment changes).
  • Dealing with day-to-day HR queries and advising in line with current policy and procedure.
  • Ensuring that up to date information is accurately maintained on the HR system to meet the needs of the Service
  • Maintaining a high level of professional customer service and collaboration with stakeholders across the Service as well as relevant external agencies and other third-party contacts, as and when required.
  • Working with management information and data analytics to enhance and improve presence management, workforce planning and other areas of HR
  • Providing administrative assistance to the overall HR function, in respect of general processes and case work (for example, note-taking at discipline, grievance, and absence hearings)
  • Continuously reviewing ways of working to identify and implement improvements that create a more inclusive and customer focused HR Service.
  • Providing support to other members of the team with other administrative duties required from time to time that are commensurate with the grade.
What we are looking for in our Human Resources Administrator - Business Partnering:
  • People Services administration experience
  • Experience of taking minutes or note taking during meetings
  • Experience of working with and advising on HR policies and procedures
  • Exceptional customer service and understands/identifies the necessary requirements to achieve this.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to enable effective engagement at all levels of the Service, including Senior Management.
  • Good level of general ICT skills, including standard Microsoft applications
  • Experience of working in a busy environment where priorities can change and demonstrates the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proven organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
