Job Description

WHAT COMPANY YOU WILL BE WORKING FORWestray Recruitment Group is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer with a proven background within machining to commence work for our engineering client based in Teesside. The organisation covers many sectors including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Rail, Marine, Nuclear and Power Generation sectors.To perform this role, you will be Time Served within a Machine Shop discipline and have progressed into a Quality Engineering role. You will be versatile, self-motivated and able to work to deadlines. As a Quality Engineer, you will be proficient managing non-conformance, establishing/implementing quality frameworks and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. You will drive quality standards and continually look to make improvements.WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Reviewing engineering drawings and formulating documented inspection plans for completion by operations and final Inspection
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and devising inspection techniques to enable all in process dimensions to be checked and verified during manufacture
  • Purchasing and controlling all gauging including overseeing calibration of measuring equipment
  • Compiling reports of all dimensional inspections.
  • Issuing non-conformance reports, performing RCA and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues
  • To perform 100% dimensional Inspections of in-house CNC and sub-contracted precision machined components
    • WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
  • An experienced Quality Engineer is required. Must be time served in a machine shop discipline; be versatile self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and interpret dimensional GD&T geometric tolerancing, surface finish to ISO / British Standards and dimensions to ASME and API specifications
  • Must be familiar with and be able to use a wide range of measuring equipment and Gauging i.e. Internal / external micrometres, vernier callipers and height gauges, depth micrometer’s, surface finish measurement (Mitutoyo Surftest) Ball Gauges, Gagemaker BX Ring groove gauges, Go-no-go thread gauging, setting up and using Gagemaker thread PD ball gauges
  • Familiar with using an Aberlink flatbed CMM and Portable CMM Faro Arm
  • Familiar with Microsoft office word and excel.
    • WHAT ARE THE FINER DETAILS OF YOUR ROLEThis is a permanent role centring on day shift hours. The usual working hours are 08am-4:30pm with an early finish on a Friday, however there is flexible working with the role and you can choose your own hours. The role also offers home working too.WHAT SALARY PACKAGE YOU WILL BE RECEIVINGThe role pays circa £30K+ per annum. 25 days holiday. Auto-Enrolled Pension.
