Job Description

Reed Accountancy are delighted to be representing a local client here in Middlesbrough, who are recruiting for a full-time, permanent Assistant Accountant to join their friendly and expanding team.Paying a salary of up to £30,000 per annum, dependant on experience.This role is best suited to someone with experience in a similar role, who is available to start with little notice and can come into the business and hit the ground running. You will be responsible for bringing the Finance function of the business in-house,as this is currently being outsourced.Your main responsibilities will be:

Purchase Ledger
Sales Ledger
Bank Reconciliations
VAT
Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets for the company
Preparing financial documents such as purchase orders and bank statements
Verifying company expenses, bank deposits and bank payments
Payroll – monthly basis
Cash Flow Forecasting

The successful candidate will have:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Mathematical skills and in-depth knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles
In-depth understanding of analytics
Ability to work as a part of a team
Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with accounting software Xero
