Newcastle, Tyne and Wear Circa £28,400 + £700 p.a on call allowance 37 Hours - Full-TimeGiving children and youngpeople the foundations they need to thrive.The roleDo you have a strong background in childrens residential care Are you focused and passionate about changing the lives of children and young people for the better We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our team in the newly developed childrens homes in the North East for children and young people who are looked after. The roles will be based in Newcastle.This is an incredibly exciting time to join a new dynamic residential team. The successful applicant will have a real opportunity to work as part of a team, who will improve the outcomes of children and young people by providing safe, stable and loving homes for them to live and thrive in. The successful candidates will bring with them their experience of working in Good or Outstanding Childrens Homes.As a Team Leader you will work with the registered manager in the day to day running of the home and deputise in their absence. Work as part of a multi disciplinary team ensuring that the children and young people we support develop to reach their full potential. We will actively support you in your role and provide you with regular supervision / APR process and specialist training including a commitment to achieve Level 5, Leadership and Management qualification from our newly developed Professional Development Centre.What makes this role different to other similar roles is that you will be working a standard 37 hour week over a rota system which provides 24 hour care this will include, late and early shifts, weekend work, waking nights and sleep in duties (for which an additional allowance will be paid). Our childrens home in Newcastle will accommodate a maximum of 3 young people at any one time.You will make a difference by:- Demonstrating experience of supporting Young People to achieve positive outcomes.- Knowledge of leading shifts and supervising staff.- Link working with young people (managing paperwork and files).- Being knowledgeable and responsible for the safeguarding of young people.You will need:- Level 3 qualification (e.g. Diploma in Residential Childcare).- Experience of working in a residential home for children.- An understanding of attachment theory and impact of adverse childhood experiences on the development and behaviour of children and young people.The way we workWe work to make sure every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential.
