Job Description

Chessington area£75,000 - £80,000pa + car allowance + excellent benefits packageGreat opportunity for a Logistics General Manager to manage the Chessington site of a well-established business, specialising in temperature-controlled distribution. The successful candidate will be responsible for a large team - headcount of over 400 - along with operational and financial performance across warehousing and transport. You will be managing a budget of c £15m so a strong financial and commercial acumen isneeded.Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial management of the operation
  • Effectively lead the distribution operation to provide a reliable and punctual service and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for correct staffing levels to maintain service and productivity.
  • Drive efficiency through continuous improvement and KPI management.
  • Lead, engage and coach a large team across a 24/7 operation.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and write-off of stock is controlled.
  • Take responsibility for all regulatory requirements of a multi-temp environment.
  • Set strategy, drive innovation and lead change.
  • Engage with key customers to improve service and support future business growth.
Key Skills/Experience:
  • Previous senior management experience within an FMCG, customer centric distribution environment.
  • The credibility and gravitas necessary not only to engage with and develop the workforce but to also build an excellent working relationship with clients.
  • Proven continuous improvement experience along with the capacity to identify areas for improved processes /productivity.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen
