Job Description

To provide technical and design support to external customers and internally within the company and wider group. To ensure that all necessary product related information is readily available to all. To assist in the maintenance of existing Vantrunk productdesigns and generate innovative and effective new product solutions.RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Provide technical support to all areas of the business and customers
  • Produce load calculations, load tables, and carry out loading simulations/analysis
  • Ensure any new product codes are generated using the standardised coding structure
  • Ensure all product related information is created, managed, and maintained including Bill of Materials, and Bill of Operations data
  • Create 3D models and associated drawings for both internal and customer use
  • Ensure the design and manufacture of product achieves all relevant codes and standards
  • Carry out new product development and improvements to existing products
  • Carry out product testing and report creation for internal developments and third party certification
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of design specifications / rules
  • Support in the design and development of jigs / tooling / machinery
  • Ensure that the correct information is in place to ensure a high level of quality
REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • At least 5 years experience working in a similar technical based role
  • Design engineering skills including 3D CAD, Solid Edge is preferable ideal but not essential
  • Knowledge of beams, cantilevers, and structures
  • Ideally some experience of working hands on with machinery/equipment
  • Project management skills including excellent communication, negotiation, presentation and report writing skills
  • Fully PC literate, including standard office software
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role
  • Ability to work to deadlines
BENEFITS
  • Salary: £30,000 to £33,000 per annum
  • Holidays: 28 days plus bank holidays
  • 4% Pension
  • Free on-site Parking
  • Working hours: Mon to Thurs - 08:00-17:00 and Friday 08:00 to 13.00
