Job Description

ETL Developer / Data Engineer- Cheshire - SQL, ETL, Datawarehousing, Financial Systems My client is an industry leading solutions provider, who is looking for an experienced Data Engineer / ETL Developer to join an established Business Intelligence team. The Business Intelligence team is responsible for providing effective reporting and data for the business. You will have great communication skills, and be comfortable liasing with senior stakeholders to understand their requirements, then creating effective reports and information from the data warehouse.Our team uses an agile approach and is constantly looking to take new approaches to solving the varied, complex and dynamic problems we face in our business.You will be an ETL developer / BI analyst and your role will be to design & develop ETL and data models. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our complex data is effectively managed across our ecosystem to support business needs.What will you be doing as an ETL Developer

  • Work closely with business teams to understand the projects that require ETL solutions, and to assist with recommending related IT development work.
  • Use your skills to design ETL solutions, data models and handle data queries, including working with other support IT functions.
  • Design, develop and document ETL solutions to migrate data from source (e.g. Sage, third parties such as credit agencies, Oracle, SQL Server & flat files) to target AWS Redshift Data Warehouse, in an effective and repeatable manner.
  • Design & create effective data models to support analytics.
  • This could involve the development of new capabilities for managing our data or making enhancements to existing capabilities.
    • What experience/skills/attributes do you need
  • Excellent SQL
  • Problem Solving & solution design is essential
  • Experience of developing ETL & data models
  • Understanding of data warehouse methodologies, data modelling and associated best practices.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work closely with business users, report builders to elicit requirements.
