Job Description

Electro-Mechanical Assembler - Hi-Tech InstrumentationChertsey£28,000 - £32,000 (DOE) Plus BenefitsThe Manufacturing Supervisor of this highly successful Mid-Sized Manufacturer of Hi-Tech instrumentation, requires an additional Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join their skilled Assembly team as a permanent member of staff.The Electro-Mechanical Assembler will use high-precision electro-mechanical components to build instruments and associated items. The company manufactures a wide range of instruments and therefore offers a varied range of work including wiring, soldering, crimping& general assembly.The Electro-Mechanical Assembler must be able to work effectively as part of a friendly & skilled team and on occasion, work just as effectively alone within this successful low volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Include:

  • Assembly & build of electro-mechanical components and instruments.
  • Fit and assemble mechanical components making use of appropriate machinery and hand tools.
  • Manufacture and installation of wiring looms (using techniques, including soldering and crimping).
  • Conduct basic quality testing and fault finding on instruments.
  • Ensure components issued are of a suitable quality & condition before commencing assembly
  • Provide occasional support to the Service & Repair department
  • Ensure all H&SE policies and the company ISO guidelines are adhered to during manufacture / assembly / repair of instruments.
  • Participation in the ISO9001 and ISO14001 standard development and maintenance
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with precision electro-mechanical assemblies is essential.
  • A good background in both mechanical fitting and electrical assembly.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering instructions, drawings and BOMs.
  • Has pride in producing high quality work with good attention to detail.
  • Organised and able to prioritise.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
