Job Description

Foam Cutter – CNC Machine OperativeChatterisFull time, permanentOur client is a market leader in designing and manufacturing high quality custom foam packaging and corrugated containers, supplying a wide range of technology companies.Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Foam Cutter / CNC Machine Operator to in the manufacture of custom packaging.Responsibilities will include;Operating a vertical bandsaw

  • Become familiar with the various grades of polyurethane block foam and polyethylene sheet foam.
  • From the works order information and associated drawings, establish the most cost-effective way to cut the raw material to maximise material utilisation.
  • Using the measurement scales on the machine, accurately cut the raw material to size and stack on a pallet for the next processing operation.
  • Complete the bandsaw information on the works order.
    • Operation of the Baumer CNC vertical saw
  • Become familiar with the various grades of polyurethane block foam and polyethylene sheet foam.
  • Using the machine control panel, retrieve the programme for the works order information and associated drawings to manufacture the product, and process the raw material through the machine.
  • To use the machine for general block cutting, use the machine control panel to establish the most cost-effective method of cutting and process the raw material through the machine.
  • Strip off the waste material and stack the foam components on a pallet for the next processing operation.
  • Complete the Baumer information on the works order.
    • Operation of the Imes CNC Router and Kimla CNC Machine
  • These two machines are specialised CNC foam conversion machines.
  • Become familiar with the various grades of polyethylene and zotefoam sheet foam.
  • For both machines. Using the machine control panel, retrieve the programme for the works order information and associated drawings to manufacture the product, and process the raw material through the machine.
  • Stack completed products on a pallet for the next processing operation.
  • Complete the Imes and Kimla information on the works order.
