Job Description

This role is the key technical accounting resource across the UK Concerts business. Responsible for UK & US GAAP accounting, including lease accounting and revenue recognition, the role will provide assistance on technical queries to Finance heads across the UK business, as well as feeding into the US Technical Accounting team on US GAAP reporting. Other aspects of the role include performance of balance sheet reviews across the UK business, and assistance with upload and integration of new businesses into the group.KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDEDEssential

    • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Assist with accounting for leases under US GAAP and differences between UK & US GAAP, including treatment of associated lease costs
  • Work with the Sponsorship Finance Manager & US Technical team on revenue recognition for large sponsorship contracts across the UK & Ireland
  • Assist with application of new accounting standards and review of compliance with current accounting standards, including in instances of new acquisitions, disposals and re-structures
  • Assist with responses to the internal and external auditors on accounting and consolidation queries
  • Perform periodical Balance Sheet reviews of the UK & Ireland business units
  • Respond to Balance Sheet reviews carried out by the International & US teams over the UK business
  • Write technical accounting memos on new and / or complex accounting issues
  • Maintain, review and amend the Asset Retirement Obligation and dilapidation provisions across the group
  • Responsibility for quarterly technical review of US GAAP companies balance sheet reconciliations where UK to US GAAP differences are accounted for
  • Accounting for US share-based payments schemes across the group
  • Accounting for redeemable NCI fair values
  • Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet upload to Oracle for certain non-wholly owned entities (DFC)
  • Assistance with integration of new acquisitions into the group, including liaising with local accountants to assist with onboarding, as well as opening balance sheet accounting under UK and US GAAP
