Job Description

Reed Finance are delighted to be partnering with a leading real estate firm within the student property sector, who are looking to recruit a technically sound, ideally practice trained Finance Manager.This a great Finance Manager opportunity to join a vibrant team who an esteemed player in their market, reporting directly into the Head of Finance, managing a team of 2 Accountants.This Finance Manager role requires a seasoned fully qualified Accountant with strong statutory accounting, consolidation and real estate investment experience ideally within student property.The salary on offer for this Finance Manager role will be between £65,000-£75,000 per annum plus benefits.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidated and individual company annual statutory accounts.
  • Responsible for the monthly consolidation for group reporting purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Responsible for overseeing the audit process and liaising with the auditors.
  • Liaise with the external tax advisors and oversee the preparation of the corporation tax returns and tax accounting.
  • Assist with the month end and year end close.
  • Production of cash flow forecasts.
  • Ownership and management of rent registers.
  • Develop and implement finance process initiatives across the group to support business growth.
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
Key Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • You will be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant coming from audit practice, ideally with 2-3years post qualification experience.
  • Strong statutory accounting experience and knowledge
  • Experience from within the student accommodation/property sector if not must have strong real estate experience from a similar asset class.
  • Good understanding of consolidations and preparation of consolidation journals.
  • Good understanding of both FRS102 and IFRS.
  • The ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of VAT and some experience of partially exempt VAT.
  • Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team.
