Their highly skilled team in South and West Yorkshire, Fife and the West Midlands have helped to position them as the market leader it is today exporting globally.We are working together to find a highly flexible, trained to Level 3, keen to learn, electrically biased Maintenance Engineer.Essential Skills & Attributes for the role* Level 3 Apprenticeship trained in Electrical Maintenance Engineering* Knowledge of PLCs, not necessarily programming* A forward thinker with a logical and process driven approach to problem solving * Proven experience of working from technical drawings* A strong and flexible work ethic with a thirst to learn* Live locally to Barnsley* A team player yet keen and able to work on own initiative* 70:30 Electrical/Mechanical* Experience in the plastics industry an advantageJob PurposeTo work with the Engineering Team to carry out both planned and preventative maintenance, installations and repairs in order to ensure the objectives of the business are met.You will be a self-motivated individual capable of working on your own or as part of a team. Experience of repairing and maintaining a wide range of manufacturing/ production equipment and time served as a Mechanical Engineer with some Electrical knowledge is essential.Key Accountabilities* Maintain Equipment/ Machineryo Competently carry out general maintenance, installations and repairs to equipment both planned and preventative.o Help develop and complete PPMs when required.o Liaise with production teams and Line Manager over machine breakdowns to prioritise repairs.o Support factory operatives in performing machine changes and settings.o Ensure maximum uptime and minimum downtime of all operations.* Product and Technical Knowledgeo Ensure knowledge of equipment and machinery within area of operation.* Maintain effective communication with your Line Manager and within area of operationo Liaise with you Line Manager on a regular basis raising any key issues and major developments promptly.o Effectively communicate with fellow co-workers.* Ensure that all production documents are legible and effective records are kept at all times* Training and Developmento Recognise the need to develop oneself; identify any personal training needs and participate in relevant training that the Company delivers.* Work within the Companys Quality Standardso Monitor and maintain standards of quality and compliance at all times.o Investigate any issues and recommend actions to prevent any re-occurrence.o Take corrective action if appropriate.* HR and H&S Responsibilitieso Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures. o Maintain a safe and clean working environment.o Ensure accidents are reported in line with Company policy.o Ensure Safe Systems of Work are read and understood. * Leadershipo Ensure compliance with rules and procedures.o Follow standard operating procedures.o Be a continuous improvement champion.o Lead by example; promote teamwork. o Agree business/personal objectives, KPIs etc. with your Line Manager. o Ensure personal appearance is professional whilst suitable for working environment and situation at all times.* Business Development and Improvement.o Understand and strive to achieve efficiency targets.o Ensure knowledge and understanding of 5S.o Recommend changes to develop/improve production processes, quality and products.* Ad hoc Duties as and when required.HOW TO APPLY:We are wanting to fill this vacancy ASAP so please dont delay in sending your CV to me - or call me to discuss onGi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited group of companies includes Gi Recruitment Limited, Draefern Limited, Gi Group Recruitment Ltd, INTOO (UK) Limited, Marks Sattin (UK) Limited, TACK TMI UK Limited and Grafton Professional Staffing Limited.
