SEN Level 1-2 Teaching AssistantSalary: £9.40 - £10.71ph per hour dependent on experienceThis is a 12 month contract from late AugustHours: 40 hours per week, term time only, 8.30am-4.30pm, flexibility within these hours is essential and you are required to work till 5pm one day a week for staff training and meetings.This SEN Education Centre is a 30-place secondary/post 16 learning centre for young people with ASD/SEMH, based in the heart of the community in Caterham-on-the-hill, with brand new state of the art conversion.This school is linked to another SEN School and share the same Headteacher and Senior Management Team, however each site has its own Assistant Head and team of Teachers and TAs. Although the sites operate separately on the whole, students do cross betweensites occasionally.Purpose of the role:You will be required to provide support to the children with their learning and care whilst in school and other settings. The successful applicant will offer a tailored approach to individual children, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reachtheir full potential in a caring and safe environment.Key Duties:To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn.To promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour.Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the classTo respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
