Job Description

Job Title: ICT TeacherLocation: Caterham, SurreySalary: : £18,810 - £27,707.40 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe) Plus £5,000 Welcome bonus For Qualified Teacher*Hours: 3 days per week - 24 hours per week- Permanent - Term Time only*** PLEASE NOTE - WE CAN NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE. IF YOU REQUIRE SPONSORSHIP OR HAVE LESS THAN 12 MONTHS REMAINING ON YOUR VISA PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS WE ARE UNABLE TO PROGRESS YOUR APPLICATION****We are currently seeking a qualified Teacher with experience of ICT to join a specialist provision supporting 11 - 16 with difficulties with communication and social interaction, typically associated with Autism based in Caterham.The role:Working as a part time ICT Teacher you will be delivering high quality teaching and learning to students who have difficulties with communication and social interaction commonly associated with Autism.Key Duties include:

  • To contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
  • To work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • To maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the curriculum.
  • To set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
  • To monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of students to parents, team members, senior staff, examination and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed and as is required through school policies and procedures.
  • To develop lesson plans analysing and self-reflecting on the outcomes.
  • To contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
  • To provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
  • To maintain an overall awareness of current issues in the field of autism in order to be able to plan for effective teaching and learning.
  • To work in a non-confrontational way to ensure individual needs are met.
Experience /Qualifications:
  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
  • Ability to teach ICT up to GCSE level
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH and PDA profile
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge Effective relationships working successfully with a range of external agencies
