Job Description

Our client is looking forexperienced Environmental Monitoring Officers for an immediate start temporary assignment covering the Cardiff, Swansea and Bangor area.You will be working with a multidisciplinary team that provides environmental monitoring, assessment advice and reporting for the fisheries monitoring and sampling disciplines.This role will involve the following:

  • Carrying out environmental monitoring - electric fishing and/or water quality sampling.
  • Collate, validate and input monitoring data and other monitoring evidence into proprietary software and data storage applications.
  • Assist with monitoring survey work and data collection to deliver our monitoring programmes, as required.
The successful candidate must have the following skills:

Essential skills and experience required:
  • Practical experience of monitoring in the freshwater environment, especially electric fishing.
  • The ability to drive and swim are essential.
Desirable skills and experience
  • Water quality sampling
  • Good knowledge of IT systems (e.g. ArcMap, Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, Word and Sharepoint).
Further information:
  • There is a requirement to take twice weekly Lateral Flow Tests as part of the Covid-19 control measures for close proximity working.
  • This role will be predominantly working in the field and is physically demanding.
