My client, a global freight forwarder, is looking to recruit a Network Manager for their office in the Midlands.Role: Network Manager - airfreight/ocean freightLocation: StaffordshireSalary: CompetitiveIndustry: Freight forwarding/Airfreight/Oceanfreight/roadfreightPURPOSE OF ROLEThe Network was established to exclusively handle the companys multi-directional Air and Ocean (AO) business. Centralising all UK-Group activities into a single branch ensures that all Group business is handled in a consistent manner and in accordance with the companys net billing policies. The Network Office is a key branch for airfreight and oceanfreight and is a driver for product volumes, trade lane development, building on (existing) and developing new consolidation services for the benefit of the company. The Network Manager holds a Senior UK Management position reporting into the UK Operations Manager. In this role the Network Manager will drive the development of group business discussing and implementing strategies with overseas offices, negotiating with carriers and suppliers to achieve the right pricing levels to support. To allow the continued growth and development of the branch, the Network Manager will need to review operational and administrative processes, alongside employee training and development programmes to optimise branch processes.MAIN DUTIES
