Job Description

Your new teamThe Nest Finance team is split into the following areas: Financial Planning and Analysis, Pension Scheme Accounting, Scheme Modelling and Business Partnering.The Financial Planning and Analysis team is responsible for:

  • The financial well-being of the company through effective budgeting, forecasting monitoring and reporting of all corporation finances;
  • Production of high-quality monthly management accounts for budget holders;
  • Managing and delivery of specific key external publications relevant to the Corporation such as CARA, the FFRF and Master Trust Submission;
  • Supporting key initiatives with insightful and accurate financial analysis;
  • Assisting presenting outcomes to ExCo and NCGB;
  • Designing and leading the corporation wide business plan process and business cases;
  • Providing challenge to the Scheme Modelling team to ensure the development of business modelling and simulation tools meet the needs of Business Planning and the wider business;
  • Developing and maintaining a culture of financial awareness and value for money across NEST;
  • Delivering a high-quality financial planning process that ensures resources are effectively prioritised;
  • Managing NEST Corporation’s funding arrangements;
  • Maintaining the accounts payable for the Corporation and processing payments for expenditure;
  • Ensuring routine finance reconciliations supporting the Corporation financial statements.
  • Your new roleAs a (FP&A) Manager, you’ll be responsible for the month end processes, ensuring the corporation ledger and the accurate monthly management reports are delivered on a timely basis.You’ll be the key contact with DWP to review and enhance Nest funding model suite: identifying, researching and analysing new and existing data sources to update, enhance the organisation’s evidence base and the model components which underpin the Loan Agreement.You’ll lead the quarterly trading meetings and the short-term forecasting of volumes, revenues and costs.You’ll provide challenges, insights and strategic analysis of interest to DWP, ExCo & Trustees and internal stakeholders.You’ll co-ordinate and participating in the business planning process contributing to both the budget setting process and the annual Funding Requirement Forecast process.You’ll report directly to the to the Head of FP&A.What you’ll need to succeedWe’d like you to have some great examples of delivering accurate and effective analysis, results and conclusions to senior colleagues.You’ll have a strong track record of management accounting and the confidence for embedding financial awareness as well as challenging the business with their initiatives and campaigns.You’ll be able to effectively manage several key projects at the same time. Some line management experience would be beneficial.You’ll have an outstanding communication style to influence senior colleagues and an ability of explaining complex analysis, results and conclusions to a non-expert audience.
