Job Description

Application Support Assistant - 30-35k + 10% Bonus (3 days on site)London based global logistics company are recruiting for a Business Application Support Assistant to join a high performing and growing team. This role will be supporting multiple bespoke applications which will take a number of months to learn. This roleis for someone who wants a challenge and will enjoy interacting with people across different time zones on a daily basis. Primary Job Responsibilities and Measurement

  • Pro-active monitoring of various aspects of IT system performance, availability and reliability of business applications
  • Registration and resolution ofHelpdesk tickets
    • As and when necessary, communicate with the staff of the external third-party service providers and internal users regarding any issue or malfunction reported,
    • Coordinate planned changes to the existing systems as requested by management
    • Review and report on the progress of the above-mentioned changes
  • Tracking to conclusion, simple and complex issue resolutions
    • When necessary, follow up any registered helpdesk tickets (incident/requests) with the external third-Party Service Provider and different business users.
    • Coordinate and register helpdesk tickets (changes) with the Third-Party Service Provider and internal users.
    • Review the resolutions or mitigations deployed by the Third-Party Service Providers to address reported issues and confirm the acceptance with the request for the affected party
    • Coordinate assignment of internal staff to support the Third-Party Service provider to address any reported issues.
    • Ensure that scheduled activities are performed and communicated on time
    • Communicate with users to keep them informed of the progress of any significant issues
  • Assist in the identification of problems in current business systems
  • Provide 1st line application support and analysis during and after a business interruption
  • Analysis of call trends and looking for preventative measures
  • Any discrepancies with agreed service levels are to be highlighted and reported to management.
  • Collaborate in the development of effective counter-measures & action plans
Skills, Qualifications and Expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Numerate
  • Ideally an awareness of the shipping or logistics industry environment
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn and understand business processes and process flows.
  • Capability to learn new skills & acquire knowledge of IT applications
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Proven capabilities with MS Office (Office365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ideally previous experience if working in a pan European or international organisation would be preferred.
