Job Description

The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join our clients manufacturing team based in Llanelli.Contract: Permanent Salary: Up to £43k per annum Working hours: 37 hours per week: 8am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8am to 1pm on Fridays.Responsible for: Managing a wide range of HR Generalist activities whilst working with and providing support and advice to employees at all levels within the business, whilst working to achieve the plant HR strategies and objectives.Key requirements/ Qualifications:

  • CIPD qualified or possess a degree in HRM (or equivalent) (or working towards)
  • Strong HR Advisor experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
  • Ability to train others in HR policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lead and guide managers and supervisors and make local decisions to progress issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Remain aware of and advise others on HR policies and procedures, legislative changes, additions/amendments to employment rights/regulations and best practice to facilitate professional supervision of employees
  • Undertake and take responsibility for projects that support the annual plant objectives along with adopting a continuous improvement attitude towards the department
  • Identify, facilitate solutions and provide guidance to those dealing with employment matters such as performance, conduct, discipline, grievance, discrimination claims, unfair treatment etc, maintaining accurate records and so called paper trails
  • Organising and supporting in disciplinary hearings, ensuring fairness, consistency and adherence to policy. Advising managers on appropriate outcomes up to and including dismissal.
  • Attend Works Council Committee meetings, issue minutes and undertake actions that arise from these meetings
  • Ensuring all record keeping is compliant with legislation and accessible for future reference.
  • Support and provide coaching to the managers, supervisors and team leaders in HR related matters as they arise to resolve issues fairly, consistently and within company policies
  • Identify and carry out absence management activities to meet company targets for absence rates. Actions may include: facilitate return to work interviews, maintaining regular contact with absentees, attend and chair absence review meetings, conduct homevisits, manage referrals to Occupational Health, gaining employee consent to access further medical information, requesting comprehensive medical report from GP, facilitating return to work rehabilitation programmes and applying capability processes whereappropriate .
  • Assist and oversee the full recruitment process. Working with relevant Managers to design EJD and vacancy advertisements, supporting and conducting interviews and making offers of employment.
  • Support other HR functions such as training, H&S and payroll
  • Organise and assist in the response to flexible working requests and other leave requests which arise
  • Deputise for the HR Manager where required
  • Facilitating new starter processes including writing and issuing contracts of employment, preparing relevant new starter packs, communicating starter information and delivering induction.
  • Advising both employees and managers on statutory leave entitlements such as maternity and paternity leave.
  • Organising and supporting grievance hearings, investigating and advising on outcomes.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly absence reports to analyse and monitor results
  • Provide absence cover for the HR Advisor Systems and Reporting to ensure continuity of baseline HR KPIs reporting internally and externally to the plant
  • Support in ensuring that new starters and leavers are processed correctly upon commencement and departure in SAP HR, Crown.
  • Undertake exit interviews and develop meaningful labour turnover analysis and reporting which measures problems, identifies causes and recommends counter-measures
  • Support the facilitation of all employee communication availability.
  • Managing employee reward processes such as quarterly and annual attendance draws and long service vouchers.
  • Supporting the organisation of bi annual business updates to the workforce
  • Create/maintain trackers that provide up to date/user friendly status updates on HR Activities.
